How it works.

A seed to keep. A plant to care for. A spirit to discover. Here are the rules of your Pocket.

Whitelist & public mint

Eligible WALLETCHI participants receive an email confirming whitelist access. Sign in with the email that received your invitation.

Whitelist mint opens November 7 at 11 a.m. EST. Public mint opens November 7 at noon EST.

The first hour is for whitelist holders. The public mint opens afterwards and is available to everyone.

Current mint prices will appear here when available.

Your whitelist includes one Pocket at the reduced whitelist price. If you do not use it in the first hour, you can still use that discount during the public mint, while supply remains.

Two Pockets total per person and per wallet, across both phases. With whitelist access, that is one at the whitelist price and one at the public price. Without whitelist access, both are at the public price.

Whitelist holders can mint both during their early-access window. The second Pocket costs the public price.

The discount can be used once. Your mint limit does not reset when the public phase opens.

Prices are in ETH on Robinhood Chain. Network fees are additional.

The public mint stays open until the available supply sells out or the mint is closed. Watering opens when minting closes. Your seed stays safe until its first water.

The life of a Pocket

Every Pocket starts as a seed. A seed never dies and never needs anything. Keep it a seed forever if you like. That is a real choice.

Water opens for everyone when mint closes. The first water plants the seed and starts its clock. After that, one water a day, from the back of the card in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.

Every water gives the plant 72 hours. It shows thirst after a day and wilts after two. Water on any wilt day and it heals over three days in a row. At 72 hours without water it dies and reveals the Spirit under it.

Robinhood Chain and ETH

Pocket lives on Robinhood Chain. Prices and your balance are in ETH on that chain. Signing in with an email makes an embedded wallet for you, with nothing to write down.

Watering costs you nothing: Pocket Pad pays the network fee for every water.

Fees and where they go

The fees for a sale on Pocket Pad are shown before you buy. The rates a listing settles at are fixed when it is listed and shown on the buy receipt.

The rank rule

Rank = M minus the death number plus 1, where M is the final supply when mint closes. The first plant to die is death number 1 and reveals rank M. The last plant to die reveals rank 1.

A plant kept alive forever never reveals.

The hidden order

The full ordered set of who is under every plant, rank 1 to M, is committed as a hash on chain before mint. Each character is published only when its rank is taken, so nobody, including Pocket Pad, can change the order after mint.

What kind of plant each Pocket grows into is committed the same way and shown from mint.

The reset on any transfer

Any transfer, a sale or a gift, even to your own second address, resets the Pocket to a seed for its new owner and zeroes its streak. A Pocket that has already revealed moves as it is.

Mint and Wallet help

A submitted transaction can take time to confirm. Return to the homepage to check its status before trying another mint. A failed transaction can still use a network fee; it does not mean a Pocket was minted.

If your first Pocket minted and your second did not, the first stays yours. You can review and mint the remaining Pocket while supply and your eligibility allow.

Use the same invited email to recover whitelist access. Once signed in, select View your Pockets in the hero to restore your Wallet passes. Cancelling the Apple or Google save screen does not cancel your mint.

Your seed stays safe until its first real water. The practice planting check during mint does not start its care clock. Watering opens when the mint closes.

Keep access to your sign-in email. Wallet settings includes an export option where available. Never send anyone your private key or sign-in code.

Keep a copy of your transaction record. It contains public transaction details, without a private key or sign-in code.

Contracts

The rules live on chain. Pocket’s smart contract records ownership and enforces mint limits, watering, reveals and transfer rules. Every Pocket is minted through Pocket Pad. There is no contract mint. Explore the deployed contracts below.

Where Pocket started

Before Pocket there was WALLETCHI. A little pet that lived on the card in your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet. No app. No extension. Tap the card, care for your Chi.

1,000 Chis sold out. 977 hatched. More than 16,000 feeds and over 110,000 transactions on chain. Then we kept shipping: CHI SHOT, a game you play from the card. CHI NIGHT. CHI VALLEY. CHI CHAT, so your Chi could talk back.

It was a first: something you own, living in the wallet already on your phone, updating itself. We wrote the standard for it, ERC-8426, and open sourced it.

To everyone who minted, tapped, gifted, kept a Chi alive or lost one and came back anyway: you built this. What started as an experiment is now Pocket.
